Damion Daniel 

Damion Daniel is a palpable presence in the electro/dance music scene and is already an unmistakable figure in the music industry.

The Early Years

A native of Trinidad W.I., Damion Daniel is musically gifted on many levels, learning to play the piano, violin and flute at an early age; he earned a college scholarship for music. However, he took a sabbatical for the love of turntables; his father was a well-known DJ on the island encouraged his son to develop his skill. Damion learned to spin when he was just 12 years old. Around the same time, his family moved to America and settled in Washington, DC., where he quickly became the DJ of choice for area events and house parties. As his popularity grew, he was requested to DJ for such internationally known Hip Hop acts Wyclef Jean, Ruff Ryders, The Lox, Cash Money Millionaires, and Born Jamericans. Damion toured nationwide with these artists performing for sold-out arenas.

Radio Career

After coming off the road, he spun at the best clubs in Washington DC, such as Lima, Ultrabar, Fly, Shadowroom, and Ibiza, to name just a few. Damion also mixed on the local radio airwaves, at the top rated radio stations; CBS’s WPGC and Radio One’s WKYS during drive time and the popular lunchtime mix.

When XM Satellite Radio launched, Damion was handpicked to be the Music Director, and On Air Personality for XM Radio Channel 67 (formerly known as "THE CITY"). Also spinning as guest DJ on XM's BPM Mix-Shows. With that platform, his voice and style was heard nationally, internationally in Canada, on Direct TV Channel 847, electronically on AOL Music XM, and on airlines such as Jet Blue, Air Tran and United Airlines. He was one of XM’s most popular personalities. 

DJing

Damion has a deep appreciation, love and respect for the art of house, progressive, dance, and electro music. The vibe and energy of the music enlivens him. Damion has been exalted by crowds at clubs in: Aspen, Las Vegas, Miami, Baltimore, Texas, Buffalo NY, Providence Rhode Island and Washington, DC. Recently he has opened for artists such as Charles Feelgood, Infected Mushroom, Samantha Ronson and Christopher. His mastery of the turntables, matched with his immense energy, ability to intensify the crowd through his production and remixes, makes Damion Daniel a preeminent DJ, to love & enjoy. 

Awards

Damion was the winner of the 2006 NBA DJ All-Star battle.

The 2006 Mix Show PowerSummit: Best Satellite Mix-Show Award,
